Job Details: 

The position begins on September 2, 2025 and ends on June 26, 2026. The schedule will be Monday - Friday, from 7:30am until 2:15 pm or 8am until 2:30pm depending on campus. 

SmartStart Education seeks a Special Education Teacher’s Aide to work with small groups of elementary, middle, and high school students Monday - Friday at a school near Albany, NY. 

• Collaborate with special education teachers to support each student’s specific needs.
• Provide direct support to students in various educational settings, including classrooms, resource rooms, and other learning environments.
• Assist in the development and implementation of instructional materials and activities designed to enhance academic, social, and emotional growth.
• Monitor student progress and behavior, documenting observations and reporting findings to the supervising teacher.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes the social and emotional development of students.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information and adhere to privacy laws and school policies.
• Assist with the organization and management of classroom materials and resources.
• Collaborate with other school staff, such as therapists, counselors, and administrators, to support student development.
• Attend training sessions, workshops, and meetings as required to enhance professional skills and knowledge.
• Other duties as assigned by the administration.

• Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution in any field is mandatory. ***Please note that applications with anticipated graduation dates will not be considered.  

• Demonstrated experience of at least 6 months in teaching, tutoring, coaching or advising youth, either within a school environment or another learning and development setting.  

• Comprehensive understanding of the unique challenges faced by urban students, schools, and communities, encompassing racial disparity, socio-economic disparity, and cultural disparity.  

• Display of genuine passion and unwavering commitment towards fostering the success of students.  

• Exemplary punctuality, ensuring timely attendance and adherence to established schedules.  

• Proficiency in communication skills, enabling effective and articulate interaction with students, colleagues, and interested parties.  

• Ability to comfortably commute to the designated location.

Pay Range: $17.32 to $19.24 per Hour paid out at a Daily Rate
