    To be a successful teacher in Flossmoor 161, you will implement the instructional and behavioral components of the individualized education program for the students in your class, establish great rapport with students, motivate students to develop skills and knowledge needed to achieve success at each student's ability, and establish good relationships with parents and other staff members.

    District 161's instructional programs work on a team with other special education teachers as well as administrators, a social worker, a speech language pathologist, and district psychologist to provide amazing learning experiences for our students!

    To be qualified for the position, you will need a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Education and you must have taught Special Education in the last ten (10) years or have taken coursework, seminars or workshops relevant to Special Education in the last two (2) years. Additionally, a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS 1) endorsement is required.

    *$7,000 annual stipend in addition to salary*
