District/Setting Information
St. Francis Area Schools is located in northern Anoka County and southern Isanti County. We are a rural/suburban district, covering 165 square miles with our early childhood center, three elementary schools, one middle school, one high school, and one ALC. Our school district annually educates more than 4,000 students and employs more than 750 staff members.
Restore is a Federal Setting III/IV program working with students who have both Special Education and Behavioral needs. The program is housed in the St. Francis Learning Center.
Qualifications
Valid Minnesota Teaching License in Special Education. We are looking for a team-oriented individual that is comfortable and experienced in working with students with Emotional Behavioral Disorders center based setting within our St. Francis Learning Center.
Summary of Duties
Provide direct special education services for students who have disabilities in a Level III EBD.
Work with the special education team to create individualized programs to meet the needs of each student.
Implement specific curriculum and instruction to students in the program to assist them in understanding their disability and to learn essential life skills.
Work with classroom teachers to facilitate opportunities for students to participate in the mainstream classroom whenever possible to facilitate strong academics.
Provide work direction and support to the Educational Assistants assigned to the program.
Communicate with families regarding students' educational programming and progress.
Develop, write and implement IEPs for assigned caseload (approximately 8 - 10 students).
Perform educational assessments of students as required.
Knowledge of the process for completing Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Plans (PBIPS) to address challenging behaviors.
Experience with providing specialized instruction focusing on delays in the areas of social skills, functional skills and behavior modifications.
Experience with curriculum's and evidence based practices (antecedent-based intervention, modeling, reinforcement, self-management, social skills training, self-regulation, transitions, following directions, task completion and safety).
