TITLE OF VACANCY: Special Education Teachers (2)
LOCATION: Sangamon County Juvenile Detention Center
CONTRACT PERIOD: June 22 – July 31, 2026 (Monday – Thursday; 3.5 hours per day, 8:30 – 12:00;
June 22 – 4 hr. Professional Development
NUMBER OF DAYS: 24
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator’s License; must be certified LBS1
- Schedules will be determined by the number of students eligible for special education, grade levels and individual needs
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide support services to students with disabilities who are enrolled in the ESY program
- Provide instruction at the appropriate level to meet the needs of the students served
- Plan daily lesson plans
- Participate in a program evaluation
- Be at assigned area 15 minutes before students arrive and stay 15 minutes after students are dismissed
- Attend one-day planning session
- CPI certification preferred
- Participate in daily meetings with the facility personnel
- Perform other duties as assigned
