    Substitute Paraprofessional (Non-Certified Position)

     

    Compensation:

     
    • $ 120.00 per full-day Special Programs Paraprofessional assignment
    • Assignment duration: First Semester Aug-Dec
     



    Qualifications:

     
    • Current State of Illinois Paraprofessional Certificate or Substitute Teaching Certificate or Professional Educators License registered in Will County/Region 56 
    • Associates Degree or higher; or 60 hours of college coursework; or ACT Work Keys; or ETC ParaPro Test
            OR
    • Current State of Illinois Paraprofessional Approval
    • High School Diploma

    • Ability to work as a team member
    • Ability to communicate comfortably with students, parents/guardians, administrators, and others
    • Ability to be flexible and patient
    • Ability to follow and enforce rules, policies, and procedures
    • Must be punctual and reliable
     
    Job Description:
    • Assist students across school settings (classroom, lunch, recess, restroom) if necessary
    • Frequent walking, standing, and sitting
    • Monitor student behavior
    • Leaves notes  for the regular paraprofessional at the end of the teaching day
    • Communicate in a friendly and positive manner towards parents, students, and administrators
    • Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
    • Ensure the safety of students at all times


    Selection/Hiring Process:
    Applications are reviewed on a regular basis and qualified applicants will be contacted.  When selected the applicant will be required to:
    • Submit the following documents:
      • Official transcripts showing 60+ credit hours or ACT Work Keys or ETC ParaPro Test 
      • Driver’s License and Social Security Card (DHS Authorization documents if applicable)
      • Physical (dated within 90 days)
      • TB Test (dated within 1-year)
    • Complete the following:
      • Fingerprint-based Criminal Background check performed at the District 202 Administration Building
      • GCN online tutorials
      • Online forms via Applitrack
      • Substitute Orientation
