APTS® is searching for an Sustitute Special Education Teacher.
APTS® offers teachers an extremely supported environment in and out of the classroom. In the classroom, Program Facilitators help to present individualized lessons as well as support students through behavioral episodes. Both in and out of the classroom, teachers can rely on their pod's Data Analyst, Behavior Analyst, and Education Specialist to assist in developing and reaching student academic and behavioral goals.
Employee’s duties include, but are not limited to:
• Provide continuity of instruction, both verbal and in writing, in various subject areas utilizing materials and curriculum provided by APTS
• Follows and adheres to lesson plans (when applicable) created by the absent teacher; develops new lesson plans as needed
• Provide the administrator and/or teacher at the conclusion of each assignment with a written summary that includes lessons covered, proficiency ratings, other relevant data/information, etc.
• Process with staff daily to ensure awareness of schedule and instructional activities
• Write quarterly progress reports which include graphs for each student’s progress, with Educational Supervisor support
• Collect data based on each student’s functional assessment and IEP
• Carry out behavioral strategies, including crisis intervention in keeping with APTS policies and procedures and regulations governing private special education day schools
• May need to attend staff meetings/trainings (when appropriate)

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 2 years’ experience working with children required
