Title I Supplemental Tutor (Title-Funded, Part-Time Position)
The Title I Supplemental Tutor will travel to assigned Title I schools throughout the Hazelwood School District to provide supplemental academic services and facilitate student achievement by helping students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible men and women. Applicants can work for up to a maximum of 15 hours per week in the following subject areas:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Education – Bachelor’s degree and a Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Teaching Certification. Certificate issued by Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education required with appropriate grade level and content certification.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Broad knowledge of curriculum, instruction and assessment; Extensive knowledge of Missouri Learning Standards; Knowledge of various instructional delivery models; Knowledge of research-based and evidence-based instructional strategies.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Requires evidence of improving student achievement; Training and practical experience in instructional management and effective teaching models
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, and to lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required included close vision, distance vision, the ability to adjust and focus, and depth perception. Specific hearing abilities required include normal conversation and isolating voices in multiple conversations.
Travels to and works in different school environments a majority of the time.
Computer, copier, scanner, projector, telephone, calculator.
REQUIRED PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: None
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a federally-funded, part-time position paid via Time & Effort documentation according to the Board-approved Extra Duty Schedule with an average of 12-15 hours per week. The Title I Supplemental Tutor is paid for 100% by Title I funds. Should funds no longer be available, or the district plan changes, the position may be eliminated to meet the needs of the district.
