Sunshine Autism Services, Inc. is a new startup autism center. In addition to ABA therapy, we plan to provide other services required by autistic clients such as speech and occupational therapies. Our goal is to serve children up to 10 years of age both in-center, in-home, and in community centers.
We are looking for an experienced BCBA who is interested in starting a new autism center as a co-founder and is capable of running the clinical side of the business. The compensation for this position not only includes excellent salary and benefits, but also significant equity in the company.
If we decide to work together, you should be willing to go through the process of being credentialed with insurance carriers prior to starting in this position full-time. We anticipate the credentialing process to take around six to nine months. As you wait for the credentialing process to complete, you should be willing to work with us part-time as a paid consultant to develop the ABA curriculum and implement the practice management software. After being successfully credentialed with one or more insurance carriers, you can start working at the center full-time.
In addition to this position, we anticipate RBTs and administrative staff to work at this center. The administrative staff, who include an operations manager and an administrative assistant, will be responsible for business operations such as sessions scheduling, billing, payroll, and reporting.
The following are the requirements and compensation for the position:
Clinical Services
Responsible for the development and implementation of comprehensive behavioral assessments and behavioral treatment programs for children with autism, their families, and their community caregivers
Manage coordination of case management activities
Responsible for providing clinical appropriate training and supervision of clinical staff (BCBAs, BCaBAs, RBTs)
Organize, facilitate and lead treatment team meetings
Provide training to parents and caregivers to implement treatment programs
Ability to travel independently to clients’ homes and other community locations as needed
Administrative
Timely completion all paperwork and phone contacts to caregivers, funding sources, outside agencies and schools (as appropriate) regarding treatment and development of treatment plans, goals, and objectives
Professional Conduct
Establish effective clinical and ethical relationships with clients and families, and maintain appropriate boundaries
Establish and maintain professional and ethical working relationships with staff and in collaborations with funding sources, community agencies, schools, medical practices, and other therapy providers
Must be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst
At least five years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders
Be willing to work in a startup environment
Experience supervising paraprofessionals implementing ABA based treatment programs
Completion of supervision training.
Experience conducting family trainings on ABA based treatment plans.
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Effective and timely documentation skills
Hold a current Virginia State License
Possess a Valid Driver’s license
Must pass a criminal background check

Commensurate with education and experience, but is expected to be above market rate for the right candidate
