Classroom Paraprofessional

 Summary:
The Classroom Paraprofessional will assist the Classroom Teacher to insure an effective and positive learning experience for students.

Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction and/or academic assistance to the students, keeping them on track and focused.
• Working with the classroom teacher, monitor student achievement to determine skill level that will allow them to have success in the classroom.
• Effectively utilize the building level behavior management plan.  Will also implement data to be used by support teams in the building.
• Assist the teacher in organizing classroom materials that may be useful for the student’s success.
• Perform various clerical duties to assist the teacher as necessary.
• Participate in necessary school meetings, assemblies, programs and school events.

• BA or Associates degree in Education Assistance and teacher certification preferred; related work experience preferred. 
• Must have communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, staff and parents.
• This position is working in a Spanish Immersion classroom and the ideal candidate would be able to speak Spanish.

Schedule:
School Year
7.5 hours per day/5 days a week  

Compensation:
Level I - $13.76 - $16.12 per hour
Level II - $15.13 - $17.71 per hour for certified teacher
