REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Early Childhood endorsement (ZS or ZA).
2. Valid Michigan teaching certificate with Special Education endorsement.
3. Knowledge and skill in commonly used approaches to educating young children in an inclusive program setting.
4. Knowledge of the requirements of state and federal mandates which directly affect the program and teaching situation.
5. Ability to develop and carry out individual educational plans, behavior intervention plans and to progress monitor student growth.
6. Interpersonal skills to effectively work with parents, teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrators.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Previous experience working in a public school and/or early childhood setting.
2. Master’s Degree.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Works with parents, teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrators to support the integration of early childhood children with disabilities into classrooms of typically developing peers at MSU Child Development Laboratory – Haslett Campus.  
2. Establish and maintain an instructional milieu which will be supportive of positive behavior change and academic achievement for the students.
3. Develop and implement individualized education plans, performance objectives, and daily instructional plans for students.
4. Maintain attendance records and other data, records, and progress reports required by the program supervisor.
5. Adhere to all policies and procedures of Haslett Public Schools.
6. Cooperatively work with professional and paraprofessional staff assigned and supervise participating volunteers and student trainees.
7. Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings.
8. Perform all job-related duties assigned by the Director of Special Education.

SALARY/BENEFITS: In accordance with the HEA Master Contract.
