  •   Boyne City Public Schools has an opening for an Elementary Paraprofessional
    Monday through Friday for 5.5 hours per day.  

    Qualifications:
    1. An associate’s degree or two years of study at an institution of higher education, and the ability to meet the State of Michigan “Highly Qualified” Paraprofessional requirements.  
    2. Experience working with children, patience, and strong general language arts and math knowledge.
    3. Ability to work under the supervision of a teacher, show initiative when appropriate, and direct small group work sessions.

    Reports to: Elementary School Principal

    Job Goal: Perform instructional paraprofessional duties and/or deliver direct services to students or parents. Serve in a position for which a teacher or another professional is responsible for designing and implementing educational programs and services.

    Performance Responsibilities:
    1. Directed by instructional personnel for the presentation of learning materials and instructional exercises.
    2. Discuss assigned duties with classroom teachers to coordinate instructional efforts.  
    3. Present subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of teachers.
    4. Tutor and assist children individually or in small groups (at the teacher's request) to help them master assignments and reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers.  
    5. Assist in administering pre- and post-testing of standardized tests.
    6. Assist the teacher in maintaining discipline and other functions.
    7. Enforce administrative policies and rules governing students.  
    8. Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, playgrounds, gymnasiums, or on field trips.
    9. Observe students’ performance and record relevant data to assess progress.
    10. Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials to prevent injuries and damage.  
    11. Be aware and assist with students' medical and/or physical needs as directed.
    12. Other duties as assigned
