| For Whom/What Responsible: | The daily instruction of special education students during summer school sessions. |
| Qualifications: | Degree: Minimum of Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (exceptions related to certification). Certificate: Missouri teaching certificate in area of assignment. |
| Experience: | Successful completion of Missouri Teacher Competency Exam, if applicable; other experience commensurate with assignment. |
| Primary Responsibilities | To provide a quality instructional program for students; to complete teaching duties necessary to the district's educational program. |
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
PROGRAM OPERATION
The teacher causes students to actively participate and be successful in the learning process.
The teacher uses various forms of assessment to monitor and manage student learning.
The teacher is prepared and knowledgeable of the content and effectively maintains students' on-task behavior.
The teacher communicates and interacts in a professional manner with the school community.
The teacher keeps current on instructional knowledge and seeks and explores changes in teacher behaviors that will improve student performance.
The teacher acts as a responsible professional in addressing the overall mission of the school district.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
A standard summer school teaching contract is as follows, depending upon the specific assignment:
Elementary/Middle School � June session � Per session (52 hours)
High School � June session � Per class (63 hours)
Compensation is according to the teacher salary schedule as established annually by the Board of Education. All other employee benefits are according to the total FTE of employment for the individual.
