    Position: High School Special Education teacher (Resource teacher)

    Full Time position, 186 days 

    Resource Program Description: Our  Resource Program provides academic support for students in a special education setting with qualifying disabilities who require additional assistance beyond what can be offered in the general education classroom. This program delivers targeted instruction tailored to each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.

    Students receive small-group or individualized specially designed instruction in key areas such as reading, math, writing, organization, study skills and social skills, ensuring they develop the necessary skills to succeed academically and socially. Our specialized educators collaborate closely with general education teachers to provide seamless support, fostering an inclusive learning environment while addressing each student's unique needs.

     

    Annual Salary: $56,000 - $64,500 (Base pay + 301 Payment).PUSD bases salary placement on years of prior experience and level of education. 


    Benefits - All full-time PUSD employees receive the following benefits in addition to their salary:

    •  Medical Insurance valued at over $11,000 per year. PUSD has numerous health insurance plans available.  The District covers 100% of the employees insurance premiums with most plans. Some plans include cost sharing with PUSD. There is also an option to purchase insurance for dependents, at PUSD group rates.
    • Life Insurance ($50,0000) with option to purchase additional for self and family
    • Pension Plan with the Arizona State Retirement System:  District matches employee contributions (Approximately  12%)
    • Generous PTO / Sick Leave plan
    • Opportunities for additional pay as an after-school club leader, coaching athletics, tutoring, etc. (all optional)

    Requirements

    • Valid AZ Teaching certificate (PUSD can assist with a short-term certificate for otherwise qualified applicants)
    • IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
