Position Overview:
MVRCS is seeking a committed and collaborative Paraprofessional (Grades K–6) to support classroom instruction and student engagement. Under the direction of classroom teachers and school leadership, the paraprofessional will contribute to creating a productive, well-managed learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the classroom teacher to support daily instruction and classroom structure.
Assist in maintaining a focused and respectful learning environment using the school’s discipline model.
Provide support during group and independent work, ensuring students remain on task and engaged.
Deliver small-group instruction in reading, language, math, writing, or spelling, as assigned.
Reinforce learning behaviors (e.g., attending, tracking, and academic posture).
Offer additional assistance to students who are not yet demonstrating proficiency or mastery.
Review, record, and/or grade student work at the teacher’s request.
Help students correct assignments, answer questions, and participate in reading or learning activities.
Monitor assignment completion and assist with re-tests or checkouts as directed.
Participate in school duties, including morning arrival, lunch/recess supervision, and afternoon dismissal.
Attend mandatory school events such as Back to School Night.
Support the school community by performing additional tasks as assigned by the Leadership Team.
Engage in all required professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to analyze information and solve problems independently.
Familiarity with school policies, state and federal education regulations, and professional expectations.
Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support students and staff collaboratively.
Commitment to passing applicable MTEL exams within one year of hire.
This is an annual, renewable position, evaluated on a yearly basis.
