Mystic Valley Regional Charter School is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Special Education Teacher to support students with IEPs and 504 plans. The ideal candidate will provide both direct and indirect instructional support, ensure compliance with all aspects of students’ individual plans, and foster an inclusive, positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver instructional services outlined in students’ IEPs and 504 plans through both direct and indirect support.
Set and communicate clear, measurable learning objectives for each lesson.
Utilize specialized instructional strategies to enhance the development of sensory-motor skills, language, cognition, and memory.
Teach academic content using a variety of techniques, including phonics, multisensory methods, and repetition, tailored to students’ diverse needs.
Uphold school-wide behavior expectations and maintain a structured, supportive classroom environment.
Accurately maintain student service logs, lesson plans, and progress data in accordance with legal and administrative requirements.
Serve as the primary point of contact for students on your caseload.
Attend and actively participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
Prepare and submit quarterly progress reports for all students receiving services.
Collaborate regularly with general education teachers through team meetings to support student success.
Support the planning and administration of standardized assessments.
Engage in ongoing professional development and actively participate in curriculum and staff development initiatives.
Perform additional duties as assigned, including administrative tasks and afternoon supervision.
Qualifications:
Background in Special Education with demonstrated knowledge of IEP and 504 processes
SEI Endorsement (Sheltered English Immersion) required
