Description: Supervision & Leadership
• Oversee daily activities of paraprofessionals, ensuring they fulfill their assigned roles effectively.
• Assist with assigning paraprofessionals to classrooms or specialized programs based on student and teacher needs.
• Serve as the primary point-of-contact for paraprofessionals regarding job expectations, performance concerns, and professional development.
• Conduct regular check-ins and team meetings to provide updates, address concerns, and encourage collaboration.
Training & Professional Development
• Develop and implement training programs for new and existing paraprofessionals to enhance their skills.
• Provide guidance on best practices for supporting students with special needs, behavioral challenges, and individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Keep paraprofessionals informed of policy changes, instructional techniques, and relevant educational trends.
Performance Evaluation & Support
• Observe paraprofessionals in the classroom and provide constructive feedback.
• Address workplace conflicts, concerns, or disciplinary actions in collaboration with school administration.
Collaboration & Communication
• Work closely with teachers, administrators, and special education teams to fulfill vacancies and ensure we are meeting the needs of students and supporting instructional goals.
• Advocate for paraprofessionals’ needs, ensuring they have appropriate resources and support.
• Maintain records of paraprofessional assignments and professional development participation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Performs duties that facilitate the effective delivery of program services.
- Works effectively with limited supervision. Performs tasks efficiently to meet deadline
Career Education - Researches, assembles and disseminates career resource materials.
- Prepares computer documents. Maintains a systematic filing system that supports the efficient retrieval of records. Routinely backs up files to safeguard computer records.
- Prepares career development newsletters.
- Assists in activities that help students identify academic achievements, learning styles, interest, physical skills, and personal characteristics that complement potential career paths.
- Assists with the implementation of students’ Individual Career Plans.
- Helps monitor student progress to ensure transition plans remain current, valid and relevant
Job Summary: Minimum of 7.5 hours/day, 5 days/week, 205 days/year
Lead Parapro Day: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday
Minimum Qualifications: - Valid state department of education license/permit as determined at the time of appointment.
- Meets all mandated state/federal criteria (i.e., approved degree, completion of requisite higher education credit hours/courses, or acceptable score on an authorized professional standard test).
- Basic computer skills deemed appropriate at the time of appointment.
- Behavioral management skills substantiated by training/work experience. Duties may require agility, physical strength, and stamina to address the needs of students with problem behavior and/or require physical assistance (e.g., mobility, transferring, positioning, weighing at least 40 pounds, etc.).
- Complies with drug-free workplace rules, board policies and administrative guidelines/procedures.
- Displays flexibility, reliability, self-discipline and a willingness to take on challenging tasks.. Reacts to interruptions/emerging priorities effectively.
- Demonstrates evidence of appropriate literacy and numeracy skills (i.e. reading comprehension, written/oral communication, mathematical reasoning/application, etc.).
- Embodies high ethical standards/integrity. Accepts personal responsibility for decisions/conduct.
- Exhibits consistent, impartial and resourceful critical-thinking skills.
- Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
- Meets all mandated health screening requirements.
- 2 years of college coursework
- OR an Associate’s Degree or higher
- OR a high school diploma with passage of the ParaPro Assessment prior to employment
NOTE: Some positions may require successful completion of communicable disease, child abuse/neglect, CPR, and/or first aid training as a condition of employment. Assignments may vary in scope/duration. Duties designated at the time of hire may be modified to address current, altered, or emerging program/staffing needs.

Salary: $24.27/hour
