Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher at Locust Grove Primary. This position is essential in providing quality education and support to students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will create an inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environment while collaborating with staff, parents, and the community to ensure each student's success.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Provide instruction in a variety of subjects while adapting teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and school administration.
- Collaborate with special education staff, general education teachers, and related service providers to ensure a cohesive approach to education.
- Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment that promotes respect, responsibility, and engagement.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a supportive educational community.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and stay current with best practices in special education.
- Assist in the management of student behavior and implement appropriate interventions as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, behavior, and attendance.
- Support students in developing social skills and independence within the classroom and school environment.

Requirements
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education preferred.
- Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of students, parents, and staff.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning.
