Summary
Bickel Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Multilingual Paraprofessional to support our diverse student population. The ideal candidate will assist teachers in providing a nurturing and effective learning environment for students who speak multiple languages. This role is crucial in fostering communication between students, teachers, and families, ensuring that all students have equitable access to educational opportunities. This position is for the 2025-2026 school year only.

Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers in delivering instruction to students in a multilingual setting.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional language assistance.
- Facilitate communication between non-English speaking students and their peers, teachers, and school staff.
- Help develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with language barriers.
- Support students in their academic and social development, promoting a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Assist in translating and interpreting school communications for students and families as needed.
- Participate in professional development and training to enhance skills in language acquisition and educational support.
- Monitor and document student progress, providing feedback to teachers and school administration.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive educational experience for all students.
- Uphold school policies and procedures, maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher preferred, or successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment (Praxis Exam).
- Proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Previous experience working in an educational setting, particularly with children, is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Familiarity with educational technology and digital learning tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to various classroom environments.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students’ academic and personal growth.
- Background check clearance as required by school district policies.

This is an “at will” position that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law.
