Reports to: Building Principal
Education and Experience: - Minimum requirement of 60 college hours or passed the Paraprofessional Assessment or completed Missouri's online substitute training program
- K-12 Experience is preferred
- Strong technology skills, required
- Knowledge of the use of the Internet for research purposes, preferred
- Knowledge and experience with Google Suite and other computer applications, preferred
- Experience with and/or knowledge and understanding of best practices in instruction, preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: - Maintains confidentiality of information gained through the performance and location of the position
- Plans, prepares, and develops various teaching aids
- Creates learning materials geared to student’s ability and interest
- Presents subject matter to students, utilizing variety of methods and techniques
- May prepare, administer, and grade examinations as directed by the teacher
- Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts
- Maintains discipline
- May confer with parents on progress of students as directed by the supervisor
- Supervises students during class and learning activities, as assigned
- Supervision of students during lunch and/or recess, as assigned
- Takes all reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
- Complies with policy, procedures, regulations, and law
- Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.
- Works with Early Childhood and Elementary students
- Other duties and tasks as assigned
