Phlebotomy Program Paraprofessional
Phlebotomy Program Paraprofessional assists with the instructional and operational needs of the Phlebotomy Health-Care program. The Paraprofessional will work under the direction of the Instructor by fostering a well-organized, professional learning environment that mirrors the expectations of the healthcare industry. This individual will also provide support for students requiring accommodations.
Support the Teacher in delivering instruction
Assist in supervising students and maintaining a safe and orderly learning environment
Provide academic support and instructional modifications to students with unique learning needs, under the direction of the teacher
Support the lead instructor in the delivery of phlebotomy curriculum, including accommodated and hands-on skill-based learning.
Provide individualized or small group support to reinforce content and skills taught in class.
Assist in supervising students during classroom, lab, and off-site learning activities.
Provide support to students requiring accommodations by assisting with modified instruction, ensuring accessibility and following documented support plans (e.g., IEPs or 504 Plans).
Maintain necessary documentation related to student accommodations, collaborating with instructor and support staff to ensure compliance with school and state policies.
Supervise students during lab work, events, and off-site learning experiences.
Collaborate with the instructor to develop engaging learning activities and reinforce industry best practices.
Demonstrate initiative, reliability, and a commitment to student success.
Participate in staff meetings and professional development as required.
Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned
Education: A minimum of 60 college credit hours from an accredited institution. A candidate may obtain Annual Career Authorization by having 4000 hours of recent and relevant work experience within the past 6 years which can be documented and verified.
Experience: Prior experience in phlebotomy or a related healthcare field. Experience working with high school students is preferred.
Certifications: Phlebotomy (e.g., CPT from NHA or similar) is preferred. Willingness to obtain credentials is required.
Technology: Familiarity with Google Workspace is preferred.
