Secondary Special Education Teacher - 6th-12th

CERTIFIED TEACHER

JOB TITLE:  Special Education Teacher-Secondary

2026-2027 School Year

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate from an accredited college/university.
• Must also have one of the following Special Education endorsements (SA, SE, SC, SM, or SV).
• Demonstrated ability to relate positively and effectively with students, parents, and staff.
• Demonstrated skills in oral, written, and technological communications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior teaching experience at the middle/high school level
• Previous experience writing and implementing IEPs
• Interest in working with students in co-curricular activities
• Experience with students who demonstrate difficulty regulating their behaviors 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and benefits per master contract based on experience and qualifications.  New teachers start at step 3.  Please see the current contract here.

EVALUATION: Evaluated annually using the district-adopted evaluation tool, by a building administrator.
