Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team at Gooding Elementary School as a Special Education ParaProfessional. This full-time position plays a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they receive the appropriate assistance and guidance to thrive academically and socially. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and other staff members to create a positive and inclusive environment for all students.

Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students in various educational settings, including classrooms and during specialized instruction.
- Collaborate with teachers to adapt lesson plans and materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Monitor and document student progress, behavior, and engagement, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
- Support students in developing social skills and positive behavior through modeling and reinforcement techniques.
- Assist with daily living skills, including personal care, mobility, and transitions between activities.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to special education.
- Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents to foster a collaborative approach to education.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or school administration.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in special education or related field preferred.
- Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs, is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take direction from teachers and administrators.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
- Knowledge of special education laws and best practices is a plus.
- Ability to lift and assist students as needed and perform physical tasks related to student support.
- Must pass background checks and meet any other state and local requirements for employment in a school setting.
