Special Education Teacher Assistant Long Term Substitute

Summary:
The Special Education Teachers Assistant will work closely with the classroom teacher to provide support and assistance to students with special needs. They will work as a full time at Earl Harris Elementary School.

Responsibilities:
- Assist the classroom teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students during instructional time
- Help to create and modify instructional materials to meet the needs of students with special needs
- Monitor student progress and communicate with the classroom teacher about student performance
- Assist with behavior management and intervention strategies
- Collaborate with other school staff, such as speech therapists and occupational therapists, to support student needs
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities

Requirements:
- Education Requirements:

• High School Diploma

- Experience working with students with special needs preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively with classroom teachers and other school staff
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to implement behavior management strategies effectively
- Ability to modify instructional materials to meet the needs of students with special needs
- Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
