Description:

Brandywine Elementary Schools is seeking a Special Education Teacher for the 25/26 school year. A Special Education teacher will plan, organize and implement a classroom environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. To promote and encourage positive relationships between students, parents, and staff members. Work is performed under the supervision of the Building Principal and assisted by the Special Education Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Applicant must be Highly Qualified and Endorsed (SA, SE, SM, SV) for this position with a Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a major in Special Education
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Qualified candidates should skillfully demonstrate the following:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate learning
  • Develop schemes of work, lesson plans and tests that are in accordance with the district provided curriculum. Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
  • Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction
  • Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies and school regulations
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs
  • Observe and evaluate students performance and development
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job duty
