SUMMARY
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team, focusing on providing individualized support and instruction for students with diverse learning needs in the Resource Room and through 1755 Services. The ideal candidate will create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth for students with disabilities. This full-time position requires collaboration with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure that students receive the appropriate resources and support they need to succeed.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education
2. Early Childhood Special Education
3. Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with ZS or ZA endorsement and any special education endorsement.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Creates and implements curriculum/lesson plans incorporating pre-readiness areas with differentiation
2. Team collaboration with related service staff and parents to create IEPs for students with learning needs
3. Flexibility and willingness to support learners at different age levels (ages 3-26)
4. Develop professional relationships with staff in different buildings
5. Observes, evaluates, and prepares reports on progress of students
6. Strong classroom management and development of learner behaviors
7. Interest and desire for inclusive opportunities with community based preschool partners
8. Data collection on learning targets and individual objectives to track student growth
9. Manage online systems for reporting, attendance and IEP generation
10. Responsible for implementation of Health Care Plans for students
11. Communicates regularly with, and directs the work of, paraprofessionals
12. Other duties as assigned
