Windham High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will provide direct instruction, case management, and support to students with a range of disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

Job Summary: 

  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • The successful candidate will serve as a consultant and provider of direct services in order to implement IEP goals and objectives for students with disabilities in a variety of settings. 
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records and prepare reports on students and activities as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.  Oversee the special education process and all paperwork for students (referral, evaluation, eligibility, IEP, progress, and re-evaluations).
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and monitor paraeducators to ensure compliance with IEPs and adherence to special education law.
  • Conduct classroom observations in order to develop reports as part of the evaluation process and IEP development. 
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curriculum, support accommodations, and ensure access to the general education environment.

  • Provide behavioral support and implement behavior intervention plans as needed.

  • Participate in IEP team meetings, evaluations, and parent conferences.

  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, and services provided.

  • Use data to inform instruction and adjust interventions as needed.

  • Foster a safe, supportive, and respectful learning environment for all students.

  • Maintain communication with families, support staff, and related service providers.

  • Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence.   

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field. 

Valid New Hampshire Department of Education certification in Special Education required or ability to obtain NH DOE certification in General Special Education.

 

 

Salary and Benefits:  According to the WEA Collective Bargaining Agreement
