Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to support students in an elementary setting. The ESI Paraprofessional will work closely with teachers and other staff to provide assistance to students needing extra medical, behavioral or academic attention. This position is benefit eligible working 8:45am – 3:45pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, Mon-Fri, student days only, approximately 32.5 hours per week.
Responsibilities
· Maintain a safe and positive learning environment, addressing any behavioral issues in accordance with school policies.
· Collaborate with other education professionals to support student needs.
· Assist students academically, behaviorally, and medically in a school setting.
· Preparation and adaptation of instructional materials under the direction of the teachers.
· Implementation of students’ academic, medical and positive behavioral support plans.
· Support students during instructional and non-instructional activities.
· Support other school functions as needed.

Qualifications
· A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
· An associate degree or higher in education, or passing ETS Paraprofessional exam score, is preferred.
· Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed.
· Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
· Must pass background checks and comply with state and district requirements for working with students.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand, bend, reach, and move about the building and campus to assist students.
· May require an employee to lift and/or move heavy objects.
· May require assistance with daily care and basic medical support such as supporting behavior, diabetic monitoring and assistance with activities of daily living (toileting, feeding, hygiene & clothing management.
