Summary: Seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher for the upcoming school year. The teacher will deliver specialized instruction aligned with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), support targeted interventions, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure student success. This role is ideal for licensed educators with expertise in adapting curriculum, facilitating IEPs, and fostering a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment for students with disabilities. What You’ll Do:
- Design and deliver engaging instruction aligned to state and district standards.
- Develop and implement IEPs and targeted interventions for students with disabilities.
- Adapt lessons, curriculum, assessments, and instructional approaches to meet individual student needs.
- Facilitate IEP meetings and collaborate with staff, parents, and specialists on student goals and progress.
- Create and maintain a safe, positive classroom environment that supports learning and development.
- Monitor, assess, and document student performance, maintaining accurate records and data.
- Implement positive behavior supports and assist in developing behavior intervention plans.
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and specialists to co-plan and co-teach.
- Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and staff regarding student progress and needs.
- Participate in staff development, team meetings, and school improvement activities.
Experience You’ll Need:
- Current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Special Education Endorsement (PK–Age 21).
- Proven knowledge of instructional techniques for students with disabilities.
- Ability to write, implement, and monitor IEPs effectively.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, families, and staff.
- Experience working with support personnel and specialists in an educational setting.
- Prior special education teaching experience preferred.
