Special Education Teacher – West Perry Elementary Job Duties

• Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Develop, implement, and maintain IEPs, including goals, accommodations, modifications, and progress monitoring
• Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure appropriate instructional support and classroom accommodations
• Deliver small group, co-teaching, inclusion, and/or resource instruction based on student needs
• Conduct ongoing assessments and collect data to monitor student academic and behavioral progress
• Maintain accurate special education records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations
• Participate in ARC/IEP meetings and communicate effectively with parents, staff, and outside service providers
• Develop and implement behavior intervention plans and positive behavior supports when needed
• Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and classroom activities to meet individual student needs
• Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and assistive technology to support student learning
• Coordinate related services with speech therapists, counselors, occupational therapists, and other specialists
• Support students in developing academic, social, emotional, and functional life skills
• Supervise and collaborate with instructional assistants and paraprofessionals
• Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
• Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school improvement activities
• Assist with state and district testing accommodations and documentation
• Build positive relationships with students, families, staff, and community stakeholders
• Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or district administration
