Description

Lionsgate Academy is a Public Charter School that specializes in educating students living with Autism or other learning differences.

SPECIAL EDUCATION TRANSITIONS TEACHER - POSITION:

  • Teach Transitions/Functional Skills to nonverbal/limited verbal autistic learners
  • Collaborate closely with Speech, OT and Case Managers
  • Opportunity to regularly plan Community Based Instruction (CBI) for students throughout the school year
  • Support students with growing their employment skills by “working” at our in-school cafe, Busy Beans
  • No case management responsibilities
  • Teach 20 students total, 3 separate groups with 5-8 class size

OUR SCHOOL:

  • Small case loads:  Case Manager positions (no teaching)
  • Special Education Teachers (no case managing) 
  • Due process days and Mentor support

WE OFFER:

Salary Range:  $37,500 - $70,000 depending on education and experience

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Possession of a valid Minnesota Teaching License in Special Education
  • If not currently licensed, must be willing and eligible to apply for and receive a Tier 1 or 2 Teaching License
  • Ability to operate a computer and the software necessary to complete required job tasks

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Masters degree in Special Education
  • Possession of a valid license in Autism Spectrum Disorder, in process of gaining ASD Licensure, or hold certificate with willingness to pursue licensure
  • Experience working with students on the autism spectrum
